The Fourth Kind

The movie Fourth Kind starring  Milla Jovovich, Will Patton,  and Elias Koteas.

The thriller is of an  Alaskan town called Nome , where people have been disappearing over the past decades. Jovovich plays a psychiatrist , Abigail Tyler, whose husband is murdered  and through her suffering of his death decides to continue his studies of the disappearances of people in the town. Dr. Tyler  investigates people who are all having trouble sleeping and all of them see visions of a white owl. By putting them under hypnosis, she is able to help them remember the night before, only to realize  the patients weren’t seeing owls but something else coming into their room every night.

This alien abduction movie portrays to have real footage throughout the movie. Most  of the scenes have a spilt screen to make the footage appear to be real and along side is the reenactments done by the actors.

The movie starts picking up when Tyler realizes  that she too is being abducted every night.

Half way through the movie I noticed everyone had the same look the” this isn’t real right?”. The movie started to get eerie and almost made  you wonder if maybe it does happen every night.   There was no scary jump out scenes or anything like the Blair Witch or Paranormal Activity but more of a realistic approach to get the audience to think it was real.  The Aliens even ended up taking Dr.Tylers daughter and at the end they showed  photos of her daughter Ashley saying that she was still missing.

Whether the movie is real or not I had trouble sleeping at night.
